Purchasing Manager

Proteus Industries is a small manufacturer of liquid flow meters and related products used in industrial control applications.  We are financially strong and stable employer.  We have an opening for a Purchasing Manager.


Responsibilities will include:

Full responsibility for Purchasing, with a reporting staff of two Buyers at this time.
You report to the President
You will be a member of the Management Committee and participate in overall management of the company
Maintain and improve department procedures in accordance with our ISO-9001 certified management system
Select and monitor vendors.
Coordinate with Engineering to support new product development 


You will have:

A four year degree in a related field
At least 5 years related experience with a stable work history
Supervisory and/or management experience
Manufacturing experience
Strong negotiating skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (we use Expandable)

Accounting Manager  

Responsibilities will include:

 

Full responsibility for accounting and HR with a staff of three people at this time.
You report to the President
You will be a member of the Management Committee and participate in overall management of the company
Maintain and improve department procedures in accordance with our ISO-9001 certified management system
Prepare tax returns in coordination with our outside CPA
Coordinate with Purchasing and Marketing to maintain accurate costs and appropriate margins
 

You will have:

 

A BS degree in accounting
At least 8 years related experience
Supervisory and/or management experience
Careful attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Manufacturing Experience is a strong plus
Familiarity with the Expandable ERP system is a plus.
