Buyer

Proteus specializes in the design and manufacture of a wide range of network capable, extreme temperature, rugged, precision liquid flow sensing and control instruments for the semiconductor equipment, automotive, medical and industrial markets.

We are looking for a Buyer to join our team!

In this role you will contribute to our bottom line by providing innovative systems, products, and solutions. Be a part of a team that not only fosters open communication of ideas but encourages innovation at every level.

This is an On-Site position, located in Mountain View, CA.

The Buyer responsibilities will include:

  • Review purchase requisitions, drawings and specifications for completeness, accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures and place purchase orders.
  • Manage performance of purchase orders and suppliers, ensures compliance with all ISO-9001 requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
  • Specifying solicitations and bid packages
  • Evaluating proposals and negotiating prices/terms
  • Prepare reports related to procurement to be presented to management

In this role you will make sound decisions in a timely manner and display strong interpersonal skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 2-3 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A stable work history

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of professional experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or related fields
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment.
  • Proficiency in MRP systems such as SAP or Expandable
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
